For the life safety of your family, have a visual smoke detector hardwired in the bedroom occupied by each deaf or hard of hearing person. Interconnect it with either an audible or visual hallway smoke detector. In the event of fire, if any connected smoke detector activates, that all important interconnection causes all detectors to activate, and the high intensity strobe light to flash. The intent is to prevent death caused by fire or smoke inhalation, and save your life and the lives of your family. In a fire, you will need every second of early warning.

Note: The United States Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and other authorities prohibit the use of portable visual fire alarms.
